Hello,my name is Alexis Carrillo, and this is my essay on my brief experience on my step by step guide on creating my own weights. I used the cheapest and affordable in my budget which happened to be my own soda bottles and a bag of rice. I then wondered how i would create my weights,by taping them into a bench press or a dead lifting weight. I then made it simple by pouring rice into the bottles, and they measured out to be around 3 pounds for each bottle. I did not use anything to tape them together, nothing really, but I did slip in around 3 rocks for each bottle since they were very light, then i took the rocks out,as it would crush the rocks.
I had many ideas when creating my own weight, one of which was to create a bench press weight, but that was not possible. I did not have tape, which would be useless, and even then i couldn't use anything for the stick to hold the two weights together, since mine was metal, it would bend the more the weight was used. I did not think of using cement either,as that would prove to be very heavy to carry around, even when i tried to imagine it, i would not be able to carry it around easy as i would need a roller or something else to bring my weight over. I knew right away that creating any type of benching weight is out,as it would prove too tedious to even carry around casually. I simply used the most basic weight as my project, as it is the best one to DIY and use. It is small. so its perfect for travelling with it, and you can add to or change the weight of the bottle by simply removing the weight in it,then changing it if you want to simply have a heavier object. That is all i managed to use, with the only cost being made is a bag of rice,as I had already had the bottles waiting to be recycled, but instead i use them for weights, which proved to be a good and cheap idea. |
